Today, the ways of stopping violence against women have been discusssed by the teaching staff and the students of the School of Social Work.The discussion was conducted around the real case of the woman exposed to a domesic violence living in an extended family. After discussing the case in detail, the subject matter experts sought efficient solutions to the similar issues and offered their suggestions.
The theoretical discussions about the range and state of the violence against women in the world and Azerbaijan and the works need to be done to ensure progression in this area were discussed around the table.
The administrative staff of the School of Social Work, Herbert Paulishin, the councellor of the twinning project “The development of social sevice provision”; Sadagat Aliyeva, the Phd and asssociate professor in Cultual Studies at the University of Culture and Arts; Nazakat Balabayova, the director of the Center for Victims of Trafficking; Matanat Garakhanova, the representer of the International Committee of the Red Cross; Gulnaz Mammadli, the representer of “the Footballers’ Legal Assistance Center” Publc Union; Sadagat Pashayeva, the expert of the Association for Women’s Rights named after Dilara Aliyeva and the teaching staff and the students of the School of Social Work participated in the event.
The concert continued with the solo performance called "Utopiya" by Yasin Babullazadeh, a fourth year student of the School of Social Work. Yasin Babullazadeh, through the rap songs composed and written by himself, touched on the discussed problem. The concert was met with great interest by the participants.
