AU-1 team consisting of Fahmin Zakirli (Computer Engineering, course II), Alizaman Habibli (Computer Engineering, course II) and Sarkhan Abbaszada (Computer Engineering, course IV) gained the right to participate in the semi-final round of “the 42nd ACM ICPC - International Collegiate Programming Contest”. Our team gained this right based on the results of the 1/4 finals of the contest (Azerbaijan championship XIII).
Our students, who have been participating in the competition for several years and have so far received the "Participant Certificate", have been awarded the "Excellence Certificate" of the contest for the first time this year.
The 1/4 final round of the International Programming Contest was held at the end of the week with the support of Baku Engineering University, Baku State University, ADA University, NAPCAR, Azerbaijan Branch of IEEE Computer Society, Azerbaijan Branch Office of ACM. 51 teams and 3 schoolchildren from 17 higher education institutions participated in the contest (out of competition). Azerbaijan University was represented at this stage by four teams. Teams were assigned to solve 12 algorithmic issues in C, C ++, Java or Python programming languages within 5 hours. Evaluation was carried out via PCMS2 online automatic assessment system at http://neerc.ifmo.ru/contest/. Note that the semi-final round of the "42nd ACM ICPC - International Collegiate Programming Contest" will be held on December 2-3, 2017 in Tbilisi, the Republic of Georgia.
