A roundtable dedicated to the specific features of social work has been held in the newly-opened Training and Education Center of the Azerbaijan University. Teachers of Baku State University, Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Shusha Humanitarian College, Baku State Social and Economic College, and representatives of Western Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan, Gazakh, Sheki, Shamakhi Mingachevir, Tovuz communities attended the event. Employees of Nakhchivan State University have joined the roundtable online. The round table was attended by master students from Azerbaijan University of Social Work.
The event was opened by Aygun Musayeva, Head of the Social Work Department of Azerbaijan University, and spoke about the shortage of specialists and textbooks in the field of social work training in Azerbaijan. The head of the department noted that representatives of the educational institutions where specialization was trained were invited to the Azerbaijan University to discuss these problems and noted that training, seminars and round tables in different levels will be organized in the center.
Later head teacher of the chair Tunzale Verdiyeva made a presentation on "Specific features of social work with communities". The presentation covered topics such as community understanding, community classification, community mobilization, community resources, community leadership, community funds, community sustainability and durability.
The roundtable continued with discussions on the topic, and participants' suggestions on ways to resolve the problems were listened.
Finally, the topic of the next meeting was announced, and participants of the roundtable were invited to a practical training on community building.
