An event called "The return day is not far away", which was dedicated to the 28th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, was held at Azerbaijan University.At the event, the memory of genocide victims and martyrs who died for the sake of territorial integrity and independence of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute's silence, and the National Anthem was played.

Literary and artistic composition dedicated to the tragedy was presented at the event to the students and teachers of the university by the students of Vocational Rehabilitation Center for Youth with Physical Disabilities N1. The composition consisted of poems and scenes about the Khojaly genocide.

At the event, Vice-rector of Azerbaijan University Yusif Gasimov and director of the center Rahila Hasratova emphasized the importance of commemoration of Khojaly genocide.

At the commemoration event, the movie based on the motives of the book that was written by chairman of the Union of Parliamentary Journalists and the head of Modern.az Elshad Eyvazli was also shown.

The event was initiated and organized by the 4th year students majoring in Social Work and having their internship at the Vocational Rehabilitation Center for Youth with Physical Disabilities N1.

The Center organizes the integration and social rehabilitation of young people aged 15-29 with disabilities into society through vocational training and into the labor market within self-employment and employment.

Handicrafts and works by the Center's youth were also shown at the event.
