Training of Business and Economics at the Azerbaijan University is 5 years including a 1-year training period for students majoring in Accounting and Audit, Finance, Marketing, Management, Economics and Business Administration taught in English. English training is of prerequisite importance for students who prefer these specialities.
The main purpose of language training is to teach students English, to develop their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. It also focuses on teaching the basic principles of academic writing and developing students' critical thinking and reading as well as their ability to analyze.
Technical facilities and interactive methods are effectively used to better integrate teaching and learning. The main goal here is to teach students high level of reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, which are the four main components of English.
Placement Test will be held in early September for undergraduate students enrolled in English. All students who have registered and enrolled must pass the test.
The placement test is used to determine whether a student has the language skills required to study in English in the specialty he / she has received in a bachelor's degree and to place the student in the appropriate groups according to the language level. The credits earned by the student during the entrance exams do not matter in this process.
There are 100 questions in the placement test. The exam assesses students' English grammar, vocabulary, and language skills and their ability to use the tense forms appropriately.
Students whose credits are 91 or more are exempt from the training program and are enrolled in the specialty curriculum they admitted. Students who awarded English language proficiency certificates such as IELTS (6.0 or higher), TOEFL (75 and more), PTE (50 or more) or successfully passed the Internal Placement Test (Placement Test) start the course directly.
English language training is conducted at the following levels:

- Elementary course, ENG 1
- Pre-intermediate course, ENG 2
- Intermediate course, ENG 3
- Upper Intermediate course, ENG 4
