To the attention of those who seeking to pursue a second higher education degree at Azerbaijan University!

Azerbaijan University is now accepting applications from individuals wishing to obtain a second higher education degree. The application process for the second higher education program under additional education began on May 26, 2025. Applicants may submit their documents electronically via https://portal.edu.az. Through this portal, applicants can track the current status of their application, receive information about interviews and examination stages, and make tuition payments. The application deadline is August 30, 2025, at 6:00 PM.

We would like to inform you that, according to the “Regulation on Additional Education”, a second higher education degree refers to a supplementary educational pathway that allows individuals who have already earned a higher education degree to obtain a new degree in a different field.

This type of education includes both general and specialized courses as outlined in the core undergraduate curricula. Instruction is tailored to the student's academic background, accounting for differences between the previous and new fields of study.

If previously completed coursework matches subjects in the new specialization, students may be exempted from current and interim assessments for those subjects, in accordance with the regulatory documents on “Curriculum content and evaluation”.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are awarded a bachelor’s degree in the new specialization and receive a state-recognized diploma.

Study mode and specializations

The second degree program at Azerbaijan University is available in part-time and full-time formats (evening or daytime, six days a week) in the following specializations:

• 6006016 – Information Technologies (full-time/part-time)
• 6004002 – Business Management (full-time/part-time)
• 6004006 – Marketing (full-time/part-time)
• 6004008 – Accounting (full-time/part-time)
• 6008006 – Social Work (full-time/part-time)
• 6008008 – Tourism Business Organization (full-time/part-time)
• 6006017 – Information Security (full-time)
• 6002004 – State and Public Relations (full-time)

Tuition fees and funding regulations

In accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, second higher education programs are offered exclusively on a tuition-paying basis, under a contract signed with the student or the legal entity employing them. Tuition fees are as follows:

• For Azerbaijani citizens: AZN 2000 per year;
• For international students: AZN 3400 per year.

Tuition may be paid either by the student directly or by their employer (company, agency, or organization), in accordance with Article 14 of the Law on Education and Clause 3.2.1 of the Regulation on Additional Education.
