The 12th Internal Chess Tournament, dedicated to the memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, was held at Azerbaijan University. The traditional blitz-format tournament was organized with the aim of promoting effective student leisure activities and increasing interest in chess.

A total of 16 students competed individually in the tournament. The matches, officiated by the University’s head coach Nazim Mehraliyev, were marked by intense competition and engaging gameplay.

According to the tournament results, first place was awarded to Uzeyir Karimov, a third-year student of the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, while the second place was taken by Nail Abdullayev, a second-year student of the Faculty of State and Public Relations. Third place went to Ayshan Musayeva, a third-year student of the ICT Faculty, majoring in Information Security.

The winners were awarded trophies and certificates.
