In the 2025/2026 academic year, the martyr Fakhraddin Gurbanli scholarship was awarded to Konul Babliyevna Mahammadova, a first-year student majoring in State and Public Relations.

Sharing her thoughts with our website, Konul Mahammadova said: “Being admitted to university with high scores is the result of many years of hard work and sleepless nights. For me, it is a powerful step toward my future and an opened door to achieving my dreams. At this door, I was met with a scholarship that inspired me to study even harder and grow into a young person who can contribute to my homeland. It is a symbol of respect for the soul of our martyr. The fact that this scholarship bears the name of martyr Fakhraddin Gurbanli adds pride to my joy and responsibility to my pride.

Fakhraddin Gurbanli once sat in classrooms just like ours. Like any young person, he had dreams for the future. But his life was ultimately defined by heroism, and his name is forever etched in the memory of our people. Our duty is to preserve the memory, dreams, and aspirations of Fakhraddin Gurbanli and all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our country. Because they entrusted every inch of our homeland to us.

For me, this scholarship is not only financial support but also a sign of deep respect for the soul of our martyr. It is a point of connection with heroic legacy, moral duty, and pride.

May the souls of our martyrs rejoice and rest in peace, because we will continue to honor their memory and elevate their names through science and knowledge”.

The martyr Fakhraddin Gurbanli scholarship was established by Azerbaijan University in 2016 to honor the memory of University graduate and April martyr Fakhraddin Gurbanli. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to the first-semester student who enters the University with the highest admission score. The total amount of the scholarship is 500 AZN.
