Azerbaijan University launches first training module for academic staff

The first module of the training program planned by the Training Center and the Quality Assurance Department of Azerbaijan University for the academic staff for the current academic year has commenced. The initial training module, delivered by the Head of the Center and certified curriculum trainer Samir Salayev, focuses on the topic “Deriving correct course learning outcomes from program-level outcomes and developing appropriate assessment questions”.

Throughout the sessions, which feature productive discussions and practical exercises, participants develop academic competencies in the following areas:

  • Methods for implementing a student-centered approach in higher education teaching;
  • The essence of Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs);
  • Techniques for correctly deriving course learning outcomes from CLOs;
  • Practical application of Bloom Taxonomy in structuring learning outcomes;
  • Methods for developing assessment questions based on learning outcomes.

The module is scheduled for 11 groups on different dates and at various times over a two-week period, covering more than 100 instructors of Azerbaijan University.

It should be noted that during the first semester of the current academic year, the Training Center of Azerbaijan University plans to conduct four training modules for academic staff. At the end of each module, participants will be assessed through specific assignments and awarded certificates based on their demonstrated practical skills.
