Announcement for prospective students

  • Admission to Azerbaijan University is carried out through the State Examination Center (SEC).
  • Admission is possible for all programs on the basis of the state order (government-funded seats). The fees indicated apply to students admitted on a tuition-paying basis.
  • The duration of study is 5 years, of which 1 academic year is allocated for English language preparation for students enrolled in English-medium programs. Admission for these programs is conducted jointly for Azerbaijani- and Russian-medium sectors.
  • Students enrolled in English-medium programs who hold international English language certificates such as IELTS (6.0+), TOEFL (75+), or PTE (50+) begin directly in their major field of study. For students with a B2 level of English proficiency, an internal interview and examination are organized. A positive evaluation from the committee is required for direct entry into the first year of the major.
  • Students admitted on a tuition-paying basis may become eligible for state-funded scholarships from the second semester onwards. The number of scholarships depends on the number of state-funded students admitted. Scholarships are awarded based on the student's GPA relative to the number of government-funded placements. Currently, 439 students at Azerbaijan University receive government scholarships, including 396 undergraduates and 43 master's students. Among these, 258 are government-funded students, and 181 are tuition-paying students. Monthly scholarship amounts at the undergraduate level are 100, 145, and 175 AZN, depending on academic performance and are reviewed at the end of each semester.
  • The Martyr Fakhraddin Gurbanly Scholarship, established by Azerbaijan University, is awarded to the student with the highest admission score in their first semester. The total amount of this scholarship is 500 AZN.
  • The University’s Double Degree Internal Program (DDIP) allows academically high-achieving students to obtain two diplomas in two distinct majors in 4 years through additional education. Eligible students are those who have completed their first year, earned all required credits in their current major, have no academic debts in their major and maintain a GPA of 85 to 100.
  • Students admitted with 600+ points are fully exempt from tuition in their first year. From the second year onwards: a GPA of 85-94.9 (A/B) grants a 50% reduction in tuition fees, a GPA of 95+ (A/B) grants full exemption.
  • Students admitted on a tuition-paying basis with scores between 500 and 599 points receive special concessions, with continued eligibility based on their academic performance in the following academic years.
  • Students benefit from short-term academic exchange and practical training at partner universities in Turkey and Europe through exchange programs and inter-university agreements.
  • In addition to their degree diploma, students are awarded an international PTE certificate, confirming their English proficiency.
