Attention to those wishing to pursue a second higher education degree at Azerbaijan University!

Azerbaijan University announces the admission of applications for second higher education programs. The process of accepting documents for the direction of second higher education as additional education has started on May 26, 2025. Applicants wishing to apply to Azerbaijan University may submit their documents electronically via the portal: https://portal.edu.az. Through the portal, applicants can track the current status of their applications, receive information about interviews and examination stages, and make tuition payments online. The application deadline is August 30, 2025, at 18:00.

We would like to inform you that, according to the Regulations on Additional Education, second higher education is a supplementary form of education that provides individuals who already hold a higher education degree the opportunity to obtain another degree in a new specialty.

This form of study includes both general and specialized disciplines defined by the core undergraduate curricula. Instruction is conducted individually, taking into account the differences between the applicant’s previous education and the new field of study.

If the courses completed in the applicant’s previous education correspond to subjects within the new specialty, the student may be exempted from current and interim assessments for those subjects (as regulated by the documents “Content and Evaluation of Education”).

Upon successful completion of studies, graduates are awarded a Bachelor’s degree in the new specialty and receive a state-recognized diploma.

Forms of study and specializations

The second higher education programs at Azerbaijan University are offered in part-time and full-time formats (evening or day classes, six days a week) in the following specializations:

• 6006016 – Information Technology (full-time/part-time)
• 6004002 – Business Administration (full-time/part-time)
• 6004006 – Marketing (full-time/part-time)
• 6004008 – Accounting (full-time/part-time)
• 6008006 – Social Work (full-time/part-time)
• 6008008 – Tourism Business Management (full-time/part-time)
• 6006017 – Information Security (full-time)
• 6002004 – Public and Social Relations (full-time)

Tuition fees and funding arrangements

In accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, second higher education is offered on a tuition-paying basis only, formalized through a contract concluded with the student or the legal entity she/he works for. The annual tuition fees are as follows:For citizens of Azerbaijan: 2,000 AZN per year;

• For citizens of Azerbaijan: 2,000 AZN per year;
• For foreigners: 3,400 AZN per year.

Tuition fees may be paid directly by the student or by the student’s employer (enterprise, agency, or organization). This is carried out in accordance with Article 14 of the Law “On Education” and Clause 3.2.1 of the Regulations on Additional Education.
