The next book presentation was held at Azerbaijan University
Azerbaijan University recently hosted a presentation of the book Advice to Youth and a meeting featuring Jeyhun Mammadov, Member of Parliament, member of the Milli Majlis Committee on Public Associations and Religious Institutions, and the Committee on Science and Education. He is also the head of the Azerbaijan-Egypt Interparliamentary Relations Working Group and holds a PhD in Theology. Among the attendees were the Rector of Azerbaijan University, PhD in Philology Saadat Aliyeva; Vice-Rector, Doctor of Mathematics Yusif Gasymov; Head of the Department of Political and Social Sciences, PhD in Political Science Elvin Talyshinski; members of the Student Youth Organization; the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; and members of the Young Diplomats and Model UN clubs.
Rector Saadat Aliyeva welcomed the MP and expressed her pleasure at his return to the University. She highlighted Jeyhun Mammadov’s contributions to Azerbaijani education, both in his former role as rector of the University and now as a member of the Committee on Science and Education. She also shared that she had read Advice to Youth and found it deeply insightful, offering valuable guidance for the younger generation.
In his remarks, Vice-Rector Yusif Gasymov described Jeyhun Mammadov as one of the most active members of the Milli Majlis and shared his own reflections on the book.
MP Jeyhun Mammadov addressed a wide range of important issues, including global and regional political developments, Azerbaijan’s restoration of territorial integrity and sovereignty—hailed as one of the nation’s most significant achievements in recent years—the challenges and threats faced in the post-war period, and the responsibilities of young people in contributing to the country’s socio-economic development. He emphasized the importance of education and commitment to national and spiritual values and offered insights into the writing process of Advice to Youth.
He also noted that Azerbaijan University holds a special place in the country’s higher education landscape for its unique approach. He shared that he follows the University’s progress closely and praised its recent successes in international rankings, congratulating its leadership and faculty.
During the Q&A session, students posed numerous questions to the MP, covering topics such as new regional dynamics following the victory in Karabakh, international reactions to this victory, Azerbaijan’s foreign policy priorities, national security challenges, and the country's positioning in the global political arena.
To conclude the event, Jeyhun Mammadov signed the University’s guestbook and took photos with participants.
