The 2nd International Conference on Social Work & Social Research, currently being held at Azerbaijan University, continues today with plenary sessions and section meetings.

The second day of the Conference will begin with a plenary session featuring three presentations. Prof. Elif Gökçe Arslan from Ankara University (Turkiye) will deliver a presentation on “Child protection and artificial intelligence: Changing dynamics of the 21st century”. Eric Chui, prof. of the Department of Social Work and Criminology and head of the Department of Applied Social Sciences at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (China), will present on “Humanistic learning in a digital world: Innovations in social work education & practice for a sustainable future”. Prof. Rafail Hasanov from Baku State University will speak on “Changes in values and life orientations among the young generation in Azerbaijan”.

In the afternoon, the conference will continue with parallel section sessions.

It is worth noting that the first conference was held in November 2023. The Conference aims to provide an academic platform for discussing the development of social work education, establishing international standards in the field, and addressing issues such as the social protection of vulnerable groups. It seeks to engage researchers working in social work and social policy in discussions of pressing issues, fostering experience exchange in developing and applying modern technologies and social practices to enhance the socio-psychological wellbeing of various population groups.
