Azerbaijan University discussed Curriculum for International Trade and Logistics specialty
A meeting dedicated to discussing the undergraduate curriculum for the International Trade and Logistics program was organized by the Faculty of Business and Economics and the Department of Finance and Accounting at Azerbaijan University.
The meeting was attended by Tale Shahvaladov, Director of ASR-Logistik LLC; Lala Abasova, Head of the Quality Assurance Department at Azerbaijan University; Nahid Almasov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics; Nariman Boyukkishi, Head of the Department of Finance and Accounting; and Emil Mirzayev, lecturer at the Department of Economics and Management.
During the meeting, participants held a comprehensive exchange of views on the demands emerging in the field of international trade and logistics in the modern era and the competencies required for professionals working in this area. It was noted that one of the main challenges faced in the sector is underdeveloped analytical thinking and inattentiveness, which create obstacles in accurately assessing and deeply understanding the legal and functional conditions of contracts.
The discussion emphasized that management and organizational skills, electronic correspondence and digital literacy, foreign language communication skills, as well as geopolitical and geographical knowledge play an important role in building a successful career in this field. Having a broad outlook on world countries and international relations was also highlighted as essential.
Participants further noted that participating in various certification programs to enhance qualifications and pursuing international training opportunities contribute significantly to the professional development of specialists. Guest speaker Tale Shahvaladov, Director of ASR-Logistik LLC, stated that opportunities for organizing student training sessions and fostering closer cooperation with the University could be considered in the future.
The meeting concluded with productive discussions on establishing mutually beneficial cooperation and enhancing students’ practical knowledge.
