A preliminary discussion of the theses submitted by Nurana Rovshan gizi Asadova entitled “The Role of Global English in the Turkic-Speaking Republics of the Former USSR” was held at a meeting of the Department of Translation and Philology to awarding her the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Philology.

The presented theses was discussed at the meeting chaired by the Head of the Department of Translation and Philology, PhD in Philology Gulnar Rzayeva, and was highly evaluated as a completed scholarly research work.

As a result of the discussion, it was noted that the theses meets the requirements of the Supreme Attestation Commission for theses submitted for the award of the PhD degree in Philology, and a decision was made to recommend it for the next stage of the defense process.

The academic supervisor of the theses is Dr. of Philology, Prof. Azad Mammadov.
