Elif Gokcearslan will make a plenary report at International Conference
Preparations are underway for the 2nd International Conference on Social Work and Social Research, jointly organized by Azerbaijan University, the Center for Social Research, Fırat University and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University of Turkey to be held on May 23-25, 2025.
The aim of the conference, which will take place at Azerbaijan University, is to bring together researchers working in this field to discuss current issues in social work and social policy, to exchange experiences in the development and application of modern technologies and social practices aimed at improving the socio-psychological well-being of various population groups.
Professor Elif Gökcearslan from Ankara University (Turkey) will deliver a keynote speech at the Conference plenary session. The invited professor’s presentation will address the topic “Child protection in the new world system”.
Elif Gökcearslan, who holds a Hirsch index of 17, serves as the Director of the Education and Research Center at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security. She is the author of numerous academic articles, publications, monographs, and books in areas such as social work, psychosocial support following workplace accidents, forensic interviewing with children, community practices for individuals with disabilities, empowerment of social workers, and child protection practices.
It is worth noting that the first of the conference was held in a hybrid format on November 24-25, 2023. The event featured 156 presentations from 32 countries, with specialization and practice in social work discussed at an international level. Scholars and professionals from nearly 40 countries participated in the Conference breakout sessions.
