The Student Scientific Society (SSS) of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Azerbaijan University held a national seminar entitled “Writing a scientific article and thesis”. The event, hosted by Azerbaijan University, brought together students representing 20 higher education institutions across the country.

Opening the event, Yusif Gasimov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of Azerbaijan University, emphasised the important role of scientific activity in ensuring sustainable development in the modern era. The Vice-Rector highly appreciated the strong interest shown in the event and expressed confidence that the students participating in the seminar would become leading figures in Azerbaijani science in the future.

Subsequently, the Chair of the SSS, Solmaz Ilyaszada, delivered a speech highlighting the significance of the seminar and presenting its agenda. The Chair noted that the purpose of the seminar was to increase students’ interest in scientific research, develop their academic writing skills, and strengthen their integration into the scientific community.

In the main part of the event, Latifa Agamaliyeva, Head of the Science Department at Azerbaijan University, provided comprehensive information on the rules for writing scientific theses and articles, the formation of article structure, academic ethics, plagiarism prevention, and principles of working with academic sources.

The event continued with discussions and served as a useful platform for the exchange of ideas among students.
