Eltun Khudiyev: Studying in Germany is the best experience of my life
Eltun Khudiyev, a third-year student of the Faculty of ICT at Azerbaijan University, specialising in Information Security, is continuing his studies at the University of Koblenz in Germany during the autumn semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.
Eltun Khudiyev shares his impressions with our website:
“I am currently studying during the autumn semester at the RheinAhr Campus in Remagen, Germany, and I must admit that this is one of the best experiences of my life. This semester is not just about studying for me; it is a new window opening in my life, an unforgettable journey that leaves a lasting impression.
During the first few days, I felt a bit excited: a new country, new people, a different environment, and a completely different language... However, from the very first day, everyone was so friendly that all my uncertainty disappeared, and I felt at home. The sincerity of the people made me feel that I was not a stranger here. Even when someone asked me, “Do you speak Turkish?” it only strengthened that feeling.
I have been here for some time now, and Remagen has become my home. Once, late at night, while returning from Dortmund, the silence of the train station, the cold air, and the rainy streets evoked unusual emotions in me. At that moment, I smiled and said to myself “Home, sweet home”. That was when I realised that I was no longer just studying abroad, I was not a guest here - I live here and belong to this place; this city has become a part of my life.
Every day here opens a new page in my life. Last week we celebrated Halloween, and now I already feel the atmosphere of the New Year and
Christmas. Each day teaches me something new, not only about my studies, but also about life and people.
This experience has also given me the opportunity to better understand myself. If you have such an opportunity, do not hesitate to value it. Studying for a semester in a foreign country changes a person, broadens one’s horizons, and allows one to discover oneself.
See you in Baku”.
