Azerbaijan University, in cooperation with the Association of Cybersecurity Organisations of Azerbaijan (AKTA) and Cybernetics LLC, held an event titled “Combating Cybercrime, Digital Safety, and Awareness”. The event was organized within the framework of Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

Opening the event, Asif Pashayev, Dean of the Faculty of ICT at Azerbaijan University, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of the topic.

Following the opening remarks, Cybernetics LLC specialists Sevinj Rajabli and Ruslan Murtuzov, along with Mehran Hematiyar, lecturer at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of Azerbaijan University, delivered presentations on identifying digital threats, social engineering and methods of combating cybercrime, as well as digital hygiene and safe online behavior practices.

Held under the slogan “Stay Safe Online”, the event continued in an interactive format, featuring quizzes, Q&A sessions, and open discussions. At the end of the event, the most active participants received gifts from AKTA and Cybernetics LLC.

It should be noted that the purpose of Cybersecurity Awareness Month is to enhance young people’s knowledge in the field of digital safety, raise awareness among university cyber clubs about real cyber threats, and support the professional development of students interested in this field.
