Azerbaijan University hosted a discussion on advancement of the curriculum of Management specialty
At Azerbaijan University, a discussion was held on the advancement of undergraduate and graduate programs in the Management specialty, initiated by the Faculty of Business and Economics and organized by the Department of Economics and Management.
The primary objective of the meeting was to align the content of academic programs with the evolving demands of the labor market, create a learning environment conducive to acquiring practical skills, and strengthen collaboration between the University and the business sector.
Participants included Elnara Jabbarova, Head of the HR Department at the Zarat Group of Companies; Nahid Almasov and Goshgar Garaev, Vice-Deans of the Faculty; Lala Abasova, head of the Quality Assurance Department; Tural Gojayev, head of the Department of Economics and Management; University alumnus Faramaz Khaligzada; and academic staff of the Department.
In her remarks, Elnara Jabbarova emphasized the importance of equipping students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with hands-on, industry-relevant competencies. She highlighted the need to expand student engagement with local businesses, arrange site visits to production facilities, and establish sustainable cooperation mechanisms between the University and private enterprises.
During the discussion, faculty members Aliaga Ismailzadeh and Rafael Mardiev also shared insights on the future development of the
Management specialty, approaches to curriculum design, and the practical value of individual courses.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided to systematize the recommendations and proposals made and take them into account in the next curriculum revision cycle.
