Azerbaijan University hosts a meeting with prominent writers
Azerbaijan University recently hosted a literary event that brought students together with prominent figures of contemporary Azerbaijani literature: poet and essayist Shahriyar Del Gerani, poet, translator, and essayist Gismat Rustamov, and writer Fakhri Ughurlu. The event, initiated and organized by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, was attended by University administrators, faculty members, and students.
The event was opened by the dean of the Faculty, assoc. prof. Safar Mammadov, who emphasized the significance of the meeting for students interested in creative writing and literature. He introduced the guests, noting that they are among the leading figures in modern Azerbaijani literature.
Moderated by Safar Mammadov, the event continued in the format of an open dialogue and exchange of ideas. The discussion centered around key issues and trends in contemporary literature, with the guests responding to students’ questions about the literary process and their personal creative journeys.
Students from the faculty: Mehri Mammadli, Gunay Shukurova, Jansu Nazarova, Solmaz Isgandarli, Tamara Hasanova, Nadir Huseynov, Tabriz Abbasov, and Sevinj Turbandayeva presented and recited some of their favorite poems by Shahriyar Del Gerani and Gismat Rustamov.
The guests also read excerpts from their own works and gifted copies of their books to the event participants.
