A New Year celebration was held at Azerbaijan University for children from the Child Shelter and Reintegration Center
The New Year party was organized at Azerbaijan University for children from the Child Shelter and Reintegration Center, a social service institution operating under the auspices of the “Children of Azerbaijan” Public Association. The event, titled “Little Stars of Wonderland”, was jointly organized by the University’s Social Development Club “Sossfera” and the Public Association. Held in the spirit of social responsibility, care, and solidarity, the celebration created a truly festive and joyful atmosphere for the children.
At the opening of the event, speeches were delivered by the Rector of Azerbaijan University, PhD in Philology Saadat Aliyeva, and the Chairperson of the Public Association, Kamala Agazada. In her address, the Rector emphasized that every institution bears responsibility for raising children in a safe and caring environment. Noting that the University she leads consistently supports social responsibility initiatives and will continue to strengthen cooperation with the Center in this area, she congratulated the children on December 31, the World Solidarity Day of Azerbaijanis, and the New Year, wishing them health and happiness in the future. Kamala Agazada highlighted the important role of such events in the social reintegration of children and expressed her gratitude to the University administration and staff for their attention and support.
The event continued with an artistic program. National and international dances, poetry and musical performances, as well as theatrical scenes performed by the children living at the Center, added special color to the celebration. One of the most beloved and warmly applauded moments was the appearance of Father Frost and Snow Maiden, who presented the children with festive gifts and danced with them around the New Year tree. University faculty members and students, along with the Center’s staff, joined the children and shared in their joy.
Musical guests also took part in the celebration. Performances by Agamali Niftalizada on the kamancha and Aydan Jabbarova, a student of the Azerbaijan
State University of Culture and Arts, on the violin attracted great interest from the audience. Young singer Ramin Bayramov, a graduate of the aforementioned university, also enriched the festive program with his performance.
The New Year celebration concluded with the performance of the anthem “There is no such thing as someone else’s child” by the “Children of Azerbaijan” Public Association.
