The event began with the performance of the National Anthem and a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs.

In his opening remarks, Yusif Gasimov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the University, reflected on the 107-year journey of the Azerbaijani Army. The modern and highly effective combat tactics it demonstrated during the 2020 Patriotic War, utilizing advanced weaponry to bring an end to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, are now being analyzed and studied in leading global military research centers. This fact alone is a testament to the strength and capability of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

Vugar Ahmadov, a guest of the event, reserve officer and senior lieutenant who participated in the Patriotic War, spoke about the development of the Azerbaijani Army and the path to victory in Karabakh. He emphasized that the historic triumph of the Azerbaijani Army was built on the strong and successful political strategy laid down by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and carried forward by the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev.

Following this, speeches were delivered by Asif Pashayev, Dean of the Faculty of ICT; Rashad Mastaliyev, Head of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science; and faculty members from the Department of Political and Social Sciences, Samir Humbatov and Azer Afandiyev. Their remarks addressed various topics, including the formation of the army during the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic period, the dissolution of the National Army during the Soviet era, military aspects of the First and Second Karabakh Wars, efforts in army-building under National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the formation and strengthening of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, and Heydar Aliyev’s pivotal role in professional military education and cadre development, the mission continued by President Ilham Aliyev, and the role played by the army building policy in the historic Karabakh victory.
