An information session was held at Azerbaijan University by the SELF for fee-paying students and designated faculty representatives. The main objective of the event was to familiarize first-year students with the Fund’s activities and to provide information on student education loans, tuition discounts, and the repayment process.

During the information session, Ilkana Hamidli, senior specialist of the Department for Cooperation with Educational Institutions of the Student Educational Loan Fund, delivered a detailed presentation. It was noted that the SELF was established under the Ministry of Science and Education in 2021 by a decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and that in the same year the electronic portal e-ttkf.edu.az was launched and the acceptance of student applications began. The Fund carries out important work to expand access to education, ensure equal opportunities, support students facing difficulties for various reasons, and promote the sustainable development of higher education.

Ilkana Hamidli provided comprehensive information on the types of education loans, application procedures, documentation requirements, repayment principles, the electronic information system, and additional opportunities available to students, emphasizing the system’s contribution to improving access to education.

As part of the session, questions from students and University staff were answered, creating a productive informational environment for participants and once again confirming the effectiveness of the student education loan system and its contribution to the development of education.

It should be noted that between 2021 and 2025, Azerbaijan University received 1,889 loan applications submitted to the Student Educational Loan Fund, and 1,631 contracts were concluded.
