Students from the Faculty of Business and Economics at Azerbaijan University - Eldar Mammadov (Azerbaijan), Cherif Lahgazi (Morocco), and a student from the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies, Ali Ahmed (Pakistan) - participated in the 16th International School of Multiculturalism organized by the Baku International Multiculturalism Center on “Diversity and Equality: Building an inclusive future”.

The participants of the Multiculturalism School, which operates in Guba and Gusar districts along with Baku City and attended by 25 students from 21 countries, were informed in detail about the multicultural environment in Azerbaijan, its spirit of tolerance, ethnic and religious diversity, and the peaceful coexistence of different peoples and faiths in the country. Throughout the program, a variety of lectures, seminars, discussions, musical evenings on “Introduce Your Nation”, and an excursion to the Shahdag Winter-Summer Tourism Complex were organized for the students.

Participants visited the Guba Genocide Memorial Complex, the Red Settlement, the Museum of Mountain Jews, and the Gilaki synagogue. The trip to Guba and Gusar provided the participants deeper insights into Azerbaijan’s multicultural traditions and its religious and ethnic diversity.

In Baku, students visited the Heydar Mosque, the Russian Orthodox Church, the Catholic Church of St. Mary, and the House of Tolerance. These visits offered firsthand experience of how religious diversity is preserved and equal conditions are ensured for representatives of all faiths in Azerbaijan.

At the conclusion of the program, participants were awarded certificates of participation.
