At the initiative of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and organized by the Department of Translation and Philology, Azerbaijan University held a discussion on the undergraduate educational programs in Translation and Philology (Azerbaijani language and literature) specialities.

The event brought together Dr. Nizami Mammadov, Dr of Philology and Senior Researcher at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS; Assoc. Prof. Safar Mammadov, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; Gunay Ismayilova, Deputy Dean; Dr. Gulnar Rzayeva, Head of the Translation and Philology Department; and faculty members Huseyn Huseynli and Khayala Jafarova.

During the meeting, participants exchanged views on adapting curricula to modern standards, the relevance of disciplines included in the curricula, enhancing students’ practical skills, and implementing innovative teaching methods in language and literature instruction. Taking into account labor market demands, the participants proposed new approaches to developing students’ professional competencies in the fields of Translation and Philology.

The meeting concluded with a productive discussion focused on establishing mutually beneficial collaboration and strengthening the practical training of students.
