The Department of Foreign Languages at Azerbaijan University held another session in its series of academic writing workshops, focusing on the topic “Compare & Contrast Essay”. The training was conducted by Department lecturer Subi Ganbarova. In addition to faculty from the Department of Foreign Languages, lecturers from the Department of Translation and Philology also took part in the session.

During the workshop, participants received detailed information on the topic, including a thorough explanation of the key features of essay type, its structural organization, content layout, and writing rules. Subi Ganbarova also provided practical recommendations on the effective use of comparison and contrast techniques, the incorporation of appropriate transitional phrases, and how to logically develop the essay content.

As part of the training, participants composed their own “Compare & Contrast Essay”, applying the knowledge and skills they had gained.

The event concluded with a Q&A session, where participants exchanged ideas and explored additional aspects related to academic writing skill development.
