An event dedicated to the 117th anniversary of the birth of distinguished scientist, renowned writer, and academic Mir Jalal Pashayev was held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Azerbaijan University. The event brought together faculty members and graduate students of the University.

The event was opened by assoc. prof. Safar Mammadov, dean of the Faculty, who delivered a speech highlighting the life, literary legacy, and scholarly contributions of Mir Jalal Pashayev.

This was followed by a presentation from prof. Asif Hajiyev, Dr. of Philology and chair of the Department of Translation and Philology, who spoke about the scientific and literary significance of his mentor Mir Jalal Pashayev. He also shared personal memories and reflections on his mentor with the audience.

Farhad Madatov, assoc. prof. of the Department, discussed Mir Jalal Pashayev’s pedagogical work and the vital role he played in shaping future generations. He also provided an in-depth analysis of the author’s novel Manifest of a Young Man, outlining its ideological themes and educational value.

Assoc. prof. of the Department Fazila Zakirova shared her own recollections of Mir Jalal Pashayev, emphasizing his attentiveness and care for young people.

The event continued with scholarly presentations by 2nd year students of the master's degree in Philology: Madina Akhmadova delivered a report titled “The impact of Mir Jalal Pashayev’s scientific and journalistic works on Azerbaijani literature”, while Elnura Javadova presented a paper entitled “The portrayal of the human image in the works of Mir Jalal”.
