The event called “April battles are our glorious victory” was held at Azerbaijan Unibversity on the occasion of the anniversary of April victory. The authority of the university, teacher-students staff, family members and guests have attended the event dedicated to the memories of martyr graduate of Azerbaijan University – Fakhraddin Gurbanli and April martyrs.

The event began with the playing of National Anthem of Azerbaijan Republic. The memories of April victims have been commemorated with a minute’s silence.

Seadet Aliyeva, the rector of Azerbaijan Univerity started the event with her speech.  She noted that, Azerbaijan people will never compromise Armenians, our country will release its territories at any cost, April victory also   proved army-people unity.

The rector stated that, martyr Fakhraddin Gurbanli graduated from The School of Social work. Being a social activist, exemplary and excellent student he got the deep respect of his teachers and groupmates.  The university holds high the memory of the martyr. Seadet Aliyeva informed the guests about “The scholarship named Fakhraddin Gurbanli” and “ Football Tournament named Fakhraddin Gurbanli”.

Colonel Hebib Mammadov, the representative of Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan stated that, Azerbaijan army has taken strategic positions conducting counter-attack during April battles. “The released territories and strategic positions give opportunity to take a full control on borders in the current situation.”

Isakhan Veliyev, the representative of Knowledge Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan venerates each martyr’s parent and informed the guests about the new published book “Victory – witnesses and martyrs”. Isakhan Veliyev noted that, the book written by Aida Eyvazli has been dedicated to the memories of April martyrs and she is working on the second edition.

Behruz Guliyev, the head of “SƏS” Media Group stated that Azerbaijan took unanimous and firm position in the conflict and developed fighting spirit and confidence in victory.

In the end the martyr’s father Seyfeddin Gurbanli noted in his speech that, April battles were a victory that showed the strength of our republic and our army the whole world.

The most remarkable moment of the event was the entrance of the martyr’s family into the hall and the participants’ standing up during the martyr’s father Seyfeddin Gurbanli’s speech.
