Philology students meet with Baba Veziroghlu
Final-year students of Azerbaijan University majoring in Philology (Azerbaijani Language and Literature) and Philology (English Language and Literature) are continuing their professional internship at “Ulduz”, the literary magazine of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers. As part of their internship program, the students had a special meeting with Baba Veziroghlu – a renowned prose writer, poet, translator, screenwriter, member of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers, and honored art worker of Azerbaijan.
The event was attended by Gulu Agsas, editor-in-chief of “Ulduz” magazine; Taleh Mansur, head of department at the magazine; Gulnar Rzayeva, head of the Department of Translation and Philology at Azerbaijan University; senior lecturer Khayala Jafarova; and the interning students.
During the meeting, Baba Veziroghlu recited some of his poetry and shared stories from his life and literary career. He spoke about his prose works, translations, and poems that had been adapted into song lyrics. The session concluded with a lively Q&A with the students.
At the end of the event, Baba Veziroghlu presented the students with signed copies of his poetry collection titled “…The Rest Is Memory”.
