8th Republican Scientific Conference of Young Researchers held at Azerbaijan University
The 8th Republican Scientific Conference of Young Researchers was held at Azerbaijan University. The Conference was organized across several fields, including information and communication technologies and applications, humanities, economics, social sciences, and natural sciences.
In his opening remarks, Yusif Gasimov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Doctor of Mathematical Sciences, spoke about the history of the Conference. He noted that the number of participants has been steadily increasing each year, demonstrating growing interest and confirming the event’s significance among young researchers. The steady rise in engagement highlights that the conference has firmly established itself and gained a loyal audience.
Yusif Gasimov wished success to the work of the Conference and noted that this year's conference coincides with the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty”. He emphasized that 2025 was proclaimed the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” in Azerbaijan by the Order of President Ilham Aliyev: “These two historic milestones - the 30th anniversary of the adoption of our Constitution and the 5th anniversary of our historic victory in the Patriotic War - carry profound significance for our country and our people”, the Vice-Rector added.
Nushaba Guliyeva, Advisor to the Rector, Director of the International Center for Master's and Doctoral Studies, PhD in History, and Assoc. Professor, informed attendees about the research presented at the conference and introduced the newly established scientific journal “Paradigma”. She emphasized that Paradigma, founded by the decision of the Academic Council of Azerbaijan University, is designed for master's and doctoral students. The purpose of the journal is to offer young researchers a platform to present their scientific findings to the academic community. The journal is interdisciplinary, covers a wide range of scientific fields, and will be published four times a year.
Following the opening session, speeches were delivered by young scientists, including Shirkhan Humbatov, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Physics-Electronics at Baku State University and PhD in Physics, and Gulnar Rzayeva, head of the Department of Translation and Philology at Azerbaijan University and PhD in Philology. The speakers shared their personal journeys with the participants, highlighting the crucial role of ambition, clear goals, and strong motivation in achieving success.
After the opening ceremony, the conference continued with seven sectional meetings.
It is worth noting that the primary aim of this Conference, which has become a rich academic and scientific tradition since its inception in 2018, is to provide a platform for young researchers from various universities across Azerbaijan, at different stages of their academic journey, to present their research findings. This year, approximately 300 theses were submitted, of which 220 were accepted. The Conference materials have been made available on the University’s website in PDF format.
