Young Translators Club

The Young Translators Club began its activities in the 2024/2025 academic year. The Club, operating under the Department of Translation and Philology, is headed by Aynur Guliyeva, a third-year student majoring in Translation (English language). Any student interested in the field of translation, wishing to develop language skills, and participating at least once a month in seminars, practical translation workshops, and group activities organized by the Club may apply for membership.

The Young Translators Club is an organization that makes a significant contribution to students` academic development, the expansion of their linguistic competencies, and preparation for their future careers. The purpose of the Club is to expand students` knowledge in translation theory and practice, strengthen linguistic flexibility, familiarize them with modern translation technologies (CAT tools, subtitling, fundamentals of simultaneous interpreting, etc.), develop translation skills, linguistic knowledge and philological competencies, improve analytical and linguistic thinking and communication skills, and ensure active integration into the professional language environment. The main mission of the Club is to equip students with knowledge and skills related to modern translation practice, encourage work with various types of texts, and prepare them for a future career as translators.

The Club`s areas of activity include translation theory, translation of literary and journalistic texts, terminology discussions, and practical translation exercises.

The Club organizes translation practice sessions, terminology training, workshops, debates and presentations, as well as meetings with professional translators in cooperation with both students and faculty members.
