World Social Work Day was celebrated at Azerbaijan University
Azerbaijan University hosted a traditional professional solidarity event on the occasion of World Social Work Day. The event "Let's build a new eco-social world together: no one should be left out" organized by the club "Empathy" under the Department of Social Work was moderated by the chairman of the club and a third-year student of social work Mahammad Alakbarov.
Mahammad Alakbarov noted that the World Social Work Day is dedicated to one theme each year, and in 2022, drawing attention to the problems of the pandemic period, the global climate, which has recently worsened, and encouraged social work communities to work together.
Narmina Bagirzadeh, a third-year student majoring in Social Work, made a presentation on "History of Social Work", Emin Mammadov "Social Work and Duties of Social Workers", Madina Rahimova "March 21 - International Down Syndrome Day".
Then, Elnura Guliyeva, a young guest with a special guest disability, shared her experience with the participants, and her father, Elnur Guliyev, spoke about the problems faced by people with disabilities, family members and parents in society.

Tunzala Verdiyeva informed about the essence of "World Social Work Day" and traditionally held annually at the University of Azerbaijan, and congratulated the students and graduates of Social Work on their professional holiday and wished them success in their activities.
The event ended with a question and answer session. It should be noted that the World Social Work Day is a holiday aimed at emphasizing the achievements of social work, increasing the visibility of social services for the future of societies, protection of social justice and human rights. Every year, World Social Work Day is celebrated on the third Tuesday in March.
