A panel discussion focusing on the field of social work was organized for students at Azerbaijan University within the framework of the “CareerLAB” network. The opening of the event was attended by Elvin Talishinsky (PhD in Political Science, Assoc. Prof.), head of the Department of Political and Social Sciences at Azerbaijan University; Nihad Hazizada, leading specialist of the Department for Work with Youth Organizations at the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Agil Guliyev, head of the Department for Work with Regional Representations at the Youth Development and Career Center, and Bakhtiyar Guluzada, program manager of the Student Youth Organizations Union of Azerbaijan (ATGTI), provided information about the project and emphasized the relevance of the social work field. The speeches featured practical recommendations on career literacy.

Subsequently, the panel discussion titled “Career Planning in the Field of Social Work” officially commenced. The panel speakers delivered insightful presentations to inform students about existing career opportunities and essential skills in the social work domain: Aygun Muradli, director of the Socio-Psychological Research and Counseling Center at Azerbaijan University, presented on “Preparing for the Field of Social Work: Evaluating Student Years”; Narmin Dashdamirbayli, chairperson of the “Support in Solving Social Issues” Public Union, presented on “Young Social Specialists: Careers and Opportunities”; and Jasur Madatzada, Founder of the “Be Brave” informal education platform, spoke on behalf of the Public Union for Social Work on “Projects in Social Work and Personal Development of Youth”. The speakers shared their professional experiences with the participants and answered questions from the audience.

It should be noted that the objective of the project is to support students enrolled in various academic programs with career planning, facilitate their adaptation to the professional working environment, and organize meetings with industry specialists in these key directions.
