Dear  compatriots!

The Azerbaijani flag is the symbol of our independence and statehood.

Announcement of the State Flag by the Supreme Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan on February 5, 1991, led by national leader Heydar Aliyev, signing an order  "On the establishment of the Day of the State Flag" by President Ilham Aliyev on November 17, 2009, establishment of the National Flag Square on the shore of the Caspian Sea is an expression of great respect and esteem to the flag.

High respect for our state flag should be a moral obligation to each of us.

I congratulate and convey my best wishes to each of you on November 9th - the State Flag Day wishing our flag wave over the occupied territories - Nagorno-Karabakh, Khankendi and Shusha.
