A meeting with representatives of the Young Accountants Public Union was held at Azerbaijan University

A meeting with representatives of the Young Accountants Public Union (YAPU) was organized for fourth-year students of the Faculty of Business and Economics of Azerbaijan University within the framework of the “Career Planning” Course. At the event, the Chairperson of the Union, Solmaz Aliyeva, delivered a presentation outlining the history and activities of the organization. She noted that YAPU, established in 2000, supports the training of qualified professionals in accounting and facilitates the employment of unemployed and job-seeking youth. In 2019, by a relevant decision of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Union was granted the status of a “Professional Accounting Organization”. In 2014, GMB Cluster Consulting LLC was established under the Union.

Following the presentation, a video showcasing the activities of the Union was screened.

Subsequently, representatives of YAPU - Sakit Samadov, CEO of the Destec Group, trainer Jafar Ibadov, and ACCA member and trainer Elshan Shahverdiyev delivered presentations on the topic “Career Development and Planning”.

In their remarks, the speakers highlighted common mistakes made by students in career planning, addressed the challenges they face, and proposed practical approaches to overcoming them. They also shared their professional experience and provided valuable insights on career development, career choice, and the labor market.

Nariman Boyukkishi, Head of the Finance and Accounting Department, expressed his appreciation to the guests and offered guidance to students on career planning.

At the conclusion of the event, Parvana Guliyeva, a 2025 graduate of the University who successfully completed YAPU-organized training programs and is currently employed, addressed the audience. She shared her experience of participating in a four-month scholarship-based training program, the skills she acquired, and her pathway to employment.

The interactive meeting provided an opportunity to address students’ questions on career planning and facilitated an exchange of views on the topic.
