The Department of Foreign Languages at Azerbaijan University has held its next training session aimed at enhancing academic writing skills. The session, conducted by department instructor Yegana Huseynzada, focused specifically on “Writing Task 2” of the IELTS exam.

The training placed particular emphasis on the structure and techniques of the “Problem and Solution Essay” format. Participants received detailed instruction on how to compose an effective introduction, clearly articulating the problem, justifying proposed solutions, and writing an effective conclusion. Practical exercises were carried out to reinforce participants’ understanding of the essay format and to improve their writing proficiency.

It is worth noting that, alongside faculty from the Department of Foreign Languages, instructors from the Departments of Translation and Philology also took part in the training. The main objective of the session was to develop participants’ academic writing competencies and support their preparation for international examinations.
