Memorandum of Understanding signed between Azerbaijan University and the Economic Scientific Research Institute (ESRI) under the Ministry of Economy

A Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation was signed between Azerbaijan University and the Economic Scientific Research Institute (ESRI) under the Ministry of Economy. The document was signed by Rector of Azerbaijan University, PhD in Philology Saadat Aliyeva, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ESRI, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Shahin Sadigov.

Prior to the signing ceremony, a meeting was held between the parties, attended by the leadership and representatives of both institutions.

During the meeting, Rector Saadat Aliyeva spoke about the activities, priorities, and strategic objectives of the University, as well as its internationalization efforts, emphasizing the crucial role of local and international cooperation in the training of qualified specialists. Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, PhD in Math Yusif Gasimov, provided information on the University’s research activities, its position in international rankings, and its performance in scientometric databases. He noted that the memorandum represents an important step toward strengthening the preparation of academic personnel.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ESRI, Shahin Sadigov, outlined the history of the Institute, its main areas of activity, the organization of scientific research, its achievements, international partnerships, and publications reflecting the country’s socio-economic development, various sectors of the economy, and the advancement of entrepreneurship. He also spoke about the emerging economic schools and their objectives, expressing confidence that cooperation with the University would yield productive results.

The meeting concluded with discussions on current issues of mutual interest.

It should be noted that in accordance with the Memorandum signed between Azerbaijan University and the ESRI, the parties agreed to implement joint research projects; develop academic programs; exchange experience in the scientific and academic sphere; organize joint symposia, seminars, and conferences; prepare joint scientific publications and analytical reports; explore opportunities for cooperation within international and regional grants and projects; support the research activities of young scholars and doctoral students; and collaborate in other areas of mutual interest in the fields of science and education.
