Career development specialists and HR managers met with students at Azerbaijan University

A series of meetings with company executives, career development specialists, and HR managers was held in April within the framework of the “Career planning” course taught to fourth-year students of the Faculty of Business and Economics at Azerbaijan University. The aim of the meetings was to support students’ fast, targeted, and sustainable integration into the labor market, and to facilitate their transition to their first professional experience by strengthening practical skills.

The events, organized by the Department of Economics and Management and the Department of Finance and Accounting, featured representatives from “MegaSec LLC,” “AV Consulting”, and “Marriott Boulevard Hotel”. Through presentations and discussions, the guests provided students with insights into career opportunities, internship programs, and professional development pathways, and answered their questions.

Ayan Etibar, Executive Director of “MegaSec LLC,” delivered an interactive presentation titled “The career planning philosophy”, highlighting the importance of maintaining a balance between hard and soft skills in career development.

Aziza Asgarova, HR Director of Marriott Boulevard Hotel, which is a part of the Absheron Hotel Group, informed students about recruitment processes and selection criteria. She also spoke about internal career growth opportunities and international transfer prospects within the global hotel network.

Another meeting was held with representatives of “AV Consulting”. The company’s Director, Vusif Aliyev, introduced the organization, noting that AV Consulting operates in training qualified professionals in accounting and auditing, as well as providing professional development programs, audit, and consultancy services. Company representative Rashad Ibrahimov delivered a presentation on “Job search methods and preparation for job interviews”.

The meetings were conducted in an interactive format, emphasizing the importance of goal orientation and long-term career planning aligned with students’ interests and skills in preparation for the labor market.

It should be noted that meetings with company leaders, career development specialists, and HR managers within the “Career planning” course will continue until the end of May.
