Twelve Azerbaijan University students earned the opportunity to pursue their studies during the spring semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at universities across Turkiye, Italy, Germany, and Poland within the framework of international dual-degree and inter-university exchange programs. In line with the University’s internationalization strategy, nine undergraduate and three graduate students studied at overseas partner institutions while completing the initial phase of their practical internships. All participating students were provided with scholarships throughout their studies abroad.

The international dual-degree program significantly expands graduates’ prospects in the global labor market by conferring two internationally recognized diplomas. Meanwhile, exchange students gained exposure to diverse academic methodologies and teaching practices. This initiative enables students to hone their foreign language skills, broaden their horizons, develop independent analytical thinking, and adapt to working within an international academic framework. Furthermore, gaining practical internship experience in real-world professional environments abroad makes a vital contribution to their future career planning.

Ilgar Mammadov, a 2nd-year MBA student in Marketing (English-medium), continues his studies as the second candidate selected for the international dual-degree program conducted jointly by Azerbaijan University and Tuscia University in Italy. Upon successful completion of the academic requirements, Ilgar Mammadov will be awarded a master’s degree along with official diplomas from both Azerbaijan University and Tuscia University.

Fariz Shukurov, a 2nd-year MBA student majoring in Marketing (English-medium), pursued studies at the University of Koblenz in Germany under the exchange program. Sattar Ismayilov, a 2nd-year undergraduate student majoring in Management, likewise continued his studies at the University of Koblenz during the spring semester.

Nurjan Seydaliyeva, a 3rd-year student in Information Security, and Natella Saadova, a 3rd-year student in International Relations, studied at Sapienza University of Rome in Italy. Meanwhile, Nurjan Ismailova, a 3rd-year Marketing undergraduate, pursued her studies at Kastamonu University in Turkiye.

Among the students selected to continue their education in Turkiye was Arkan Adishli, a 1st-year graduate student in Legal Regulation of the Economy, who studied at Anadolu University during the semester.

Fakhri Mammadli, a 3rd-year student majoring in Business Administration, and Aysel Musayeva, a 3rd-year student majoring in Accounting, continued their studies at the Krakow University of Economics in Poland.

4th-year Information Security students Yunis Badalov and Nihad Aliyev, alongside 4th-year Political Science student Sabina Jalilova, completed the first stage of their professional internships at Necmettin Erbakan University in Turkiye. During the internship period, students engaged in academic and practical activities across relevant faculties and departments of the university. This experience fostered their professional competencies, introduced them to international standards, and reinforced their theoretical background through practical experience abroad. Following the completion of the international internship module, the students resumed their practical training at local organizations to apply their newly acquired skills, facilitating the integration of international best practices into the domestic professional environment.

The exchange program participants shared their personal impressions of studying abroad:

Arkan Adishli Legal Regulation of the Economy, 1st-year Master’s student (Anadolu University, Turkiye)

“...Studying at Anadolu University was a truly memorable experience for me. Although I encountered a different academic environment here, the support of the professors, the quality of instruction, and the campus facilities made it easy for me to adapt to the academic process. The library, academic resources, and social spaces positively influenced both my education and personal growth. Meeting students from various countries and discovering new cultures was immensely rewarding. Anadolu University is located in Eskishehir, a city with an active social life, cultural landmarks, parks, and recreational sites. For exchange students, living in this city is both convenient and engaging. Establishing new friendships while experiencing life in another country, alongside the warm hospitality of the Turkish people, rendered my experience even more valuable...”

Natella Saadova International Relations, 3rd-year undergraduate (Sapienza University of Rome, Italy)

However, over time, everything fell into place as I adapted to the language and academic expectations. Meeting new people made this process much easier. I can confidently say that making independent decisions and adapting to unfamiliar conditions in Rome provided me with real-life experience. The education system here requires students to think independently, be active, and apply what they have learned in practice, while also providing broad opportunities to do so.
