Two seminars were held at the Institute of Mathematics of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the participation of Azerbaijan University staff. At the first seminar, Assoc. Prof. Rashad Mastaliyev, Head of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Azerbaijan University, delivered a presentation titled: “On explanation of the solution to a system of first-order linear stochastic hyperbolic equations and the optimality of intrinsic states in an optimal control problem described by nonlinear equations of the same type”.

The report presented an integral representation of the solution to a system of first-order linear stochastic hyperbolic equations. The study considered an optimal control problem described by a system of first-order stochastic hyperbolic equations arising in the modeling of certain chemical and technological processes under the influence of random noise. The optimality of internal control actions was investigated in the sense of the Pontryagin maximum principle, and necessary conditions for their optimality were obtained.

At the seminar of the “Differential equations” laboratory of the Institute, Dean of the Faculty of ICT of Azerbaijan University, dissertation candidate Asif Pashayev, presented a report titled “Existence of global solutions for a system of nonlinear pseudohyperbolic equations”.

The report studied the existence and uniqueness of local and subsequently global solutions in a Banach space of function-valued mappings using the Galerkin method. The existence of solutions for a semilinear system under small initial conditions was also discussed.
