An educational event titled “Further expansion of public awareness activities on the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and the harmful effects of drug addiction, taking into account the capabilities of modern information technologies” was held at Azerbaijan University.

The event featured a presentation by Maria Davidova, lecturer at the Department of Social Work Organization. She provided comprehensive information on the application of modern information technologies in the field of social work, particularly focusing on innovative approaches to promoting healthy lifestyles and conducting awareness campaigns on the harmful consequences of drug addiction. She emphasized that digital platforms, social media, and online communication tools serve as effective instruments in this area. Maria Davidova noted that, in the modern era, social work professionals should not rely solely on traditional methods, but should also make maximum use of the opportunities offered by information technologies.

The event included discussions based on real-life examples, and students gained practical knowledge on developing awareness campaigns, establishing effective communication with target groups, and organizing preventive initiatives.

Organized in an interactive format for students majoring in Social Work, the event encouraged active student participation and provided detailed answers to their questions.

The primary objective of the event was to enhance the professional knowledge and skills of future social work specialists and support them in conducting more effective educational and community-oriented activities.

It should be noted that the event was organized within the framework of the implementation of the “State Program for 2025-2030 on Combating the Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors, and Drug Addiction”.
