The Student Youth Organization of Azerbaijan University held a commemorative event dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. At the commemorative event, the national anthem was performed, and the memory of the victims of the genocide was honored with a minute of silence.

The opening speech of the event was delivered by the Head of the Department of Political and Social Sciences, PhD in Political Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Elvin Talyshinski and the Chairman of the SYO Huseyn Rustamli. The speeches emphasized the importance of preserving spiritual memory. It was noted that conveying the truth about the Khojaly genocide to the international community and promoting it at the international level is one of the main directions of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy.

After the speeches, a video about the truth of the genocide was shown.

Letters prepared with the help of AI, symbolically expressing the pain of the victims of the genocide - elderly people, children, and women - were presented to the participants of the event. One of these letters was read by the guest of the event, school student Nargiz Allahyarova.
